Consecutive interpreting

In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter speaks after the source-language speaker has finished speaking. Speech is divided in segments, and the interpreter is standing or sitting beside the source-language speaker, listening and taking notes as the speaker deploys his or her message. Once the speaker pauses or finishes with his or her speech, the interpreter renders the message or part of it into the target-language.
